Almost 3 weeks since i wrote my last blog. At last i back on track. After the end of Trans Titiwangsa expedition, i was too tired to write. After got home, unluckily i got fever and food poisoning.. laying on bed for a week. Then, i went to kl to join Vig and other crews for counting balls of maxis sms contest. Tons of balls counted… until my eyes turn to black and white, All things were seeing by me were in black and white (wtf!). Now the new semester has been started. i’m expecting 5 subjects are going to be tough for me. Before everything gets busy, i suppose write about what i had promised before.
Trans Titiwangsa was a tough journey as expected before. I was physically and mentally tired after the end of the expediton. But the return was extremely valueable for me. Beautiful sceneries were enjoyed by me and all the trekkers, extreeeeeemely beautiful sceneries. The trekkers:
- Fathee (Program director)
- Brother Jeff (Abang Jaafar/guide@Ex-commando, 44 years old)
- Pak Busu (the oldest trekker@guide, 62 years old)
- Lagun (The super fit medic@Commando from Mersing Military Camp, 31 years old)

- Abang Kent, Lalok, Jaon

- The three sisters

Day 1, Monday, January 16,2006
- 11:00am: We moved from Melaka Campus.

- As what we had been expected that the expedition will be a tough expedition. It was rain heavily when we were in the bus. The bad weather indicated a first impression that we shall be faced bad weather through out the expedition. But luckily was not.
- 4:00pm: We arrived to Jusco Ipoh for last opportunity to shop before the journey start.
- 5:00pm: We moved to Kg. Chadak, Tambun
- 8:00pm: A 4wd picked us up to the first camp site. On the way, we passed by TNB’s dam which is under construction. I did’nt managed to take any photo of the dam because it was dark and my camera didn’t have a good flash light. I only can say that the wall is very high. The 4wd used the path that going to be flooded with water soon.
- 8:30:pm: We spent a night not too far from the dam, i think so.
Day 2, Tuesday, January 17,2006

- 8:15am: The expedition was officially started right after warm-up session.
- 9:15am: So far the path was easy, horizontal path, but some easy uphill.
- 10:00am: We passed by an old native village. The native people have been moved to a new village provided by TNB. We believe that the area is going to be a dam soon.

- 2:00pm: We stopped at a beautiful waterfall and had our lunch there. All of us took the opportunity to relax our body by jump into the pool. The water is cool. After hours of climb uphill, the water fall was enough for us to reenergize our mental and physical. The waterfall was very beautiful, i can not forget about it.

- 5:00pm: We reached at Kijang Base Camp. The long hours of walk for the day end here. We spent a night at Kijang Base Camp. And the next day was tougher than the day…. ouuuuhhh!…

Day 3, Wednesday, January 18,2006
- 8:00am: We moved earlier than the day before, because the expedition was getting tougher day by day. The day, we climbed a lot of
looooong vertical uphill and passed by many of norrow paths. January,18 was the day when we reached the peak of Mount Korbu. Mount Korbu was our first objective. - 5:00pm: We saw the peak of Mount Korbu. But it was still far from the place where we were standing. But the sceneries were very beautiful. So I took the chance to take photo of Mount Korbu.

- 7:30pm: At last, we ended the day on the peak of Mount Korbu. Mount Korbu (2183 m) is situated in the state of Perak and is the second highest peak in Peninsular Malaysia (less 3 metres than Mount Tahan). The weather was very cold. Brother Jeff told us that the temperature was 15 degree celcius. From the top, we enjoyed the scene of Kinta valley. It looked like stars spreading and twinkling on the ground. After dinner, all of us spent our time in our own tent and sleeping bag.

Day 4, Thursday, January 19,2006
- 6:15am: I woke up early while others were sleeping, i was the only one. Because of nothing to do, i laid down on my mat watching the stars above us.
- 6:45: I called up all the trekkers to watch the sunrise of the day. The panorama was extremely beautiful. No other word can describe the scene.

- 9:00am: We enjoyed the best breakfast at 7162ft above sea level. We ate tuna sandwiches made by my group
- 10:00am: After that, we continued our mission to Mount Gayung once we packed in our stuffs.
- 11:45am: We arrived at the summit of Mount Gayung. We stopped there for minutes by taking some photos.

- 2:00pm: We had our lunch at Kem Cerek. We ate rice, serunding and fried bloodshot eye. The name of “Cerek” because of a hanging kettle left at the camp site.
- 7:30pm: It was getting dark and we were still heading to 6850 camp (6850ft above sea level).
- 9:00pm: It was a long day. We walked almost 8 hours to get to 6850 camp. It was a terrible time to walk in the dark. I cant see anything far around me. Luckily i brought a small torchlight which helped me a little. I brought a small torchlight because it is easy to carry, light and to save space in my backpack. It was the hardest day for the days of the expedition.
- 3:00am: I can’t sleep properly for the night because of gnats or sandfly were disturbing me.
Day 5, Friday, January 20,2006
- 8:30am: We start the day for our next target which was Mount Yong Belar. The paths way were easier than before. We came upon some short uphills and more horizontal routes. (legaaaa…).
- 3:00pm: Actually i enjoyed passed through the routes. The rain forest presented us a lot of beautiful sceneries. Some places looked like a scene in Lord of The Ring the movie.

- 6:30pm: At last, we achieved our third objective. I was the last man together with bro Kent as a sweeper. We stepped on the peak of Mount Yong Belar. No word can describe the panorama of sunset from the peak.

Day 6, Saturday, January 21,2006
- 7:00am: Another beautiful sky. We were petrified by the beautifulness of sunrise right from the Banjaran Titiwangsa.

- 9:00am: The next and last mission was to complete the Titiwangsa Traverse. We routed to Blue Valley, Cameron Highlands which was the last point of the expedition. Two 4wd were waiting for us to pick us up to Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands. At the moment, strawberry farms and strawberry ice-cream were the only things i thought in my mind.
- 5:00pm: I walked together along with Ainor. A few other trekkers were ahead of us except some left behind together with the sweepers. After hours of uphill and downhill, then we saw a farm far from a distance. We screamed out loud. We just came out from deep forest. I can’t describe how happy we were. So we decide to take photos for memory. Luckily we saw an eagle pass by kind like saying “see you next time, bye…”. By the way, we heard some other trekkers shouting at the base of the hill meant that they had arrived to the last check point. Before me and Ainor went downhill, we enjoyed some drinks and raisins to celebrate the end of our expedition.

- 8:30pm: Two 4wd picked us up to Tanah Rata
- 8:45pm: Unfortunately, an accident occurred. Alhamdulillah, no one injured in the incident. Both of the 4wd slipped to the side of the route. We can’t do anything after a few tries pushing the 4wd.
- 9:15pm: We stucked in the middle of no where plus the cold weather. Another terrible night ruined my expedition.
- 9:30pm: Another 4wd came to save the day. But regrettably, i need to wait for the second trip. So, i stuck in the cold weather for another one and a half hours.

Day 7, Sunday, January 22,2006
The next day, we visited interesting places in CH. We went to strawberry farm, CH stalls, Boh plantations and bee farm. The best part was when we visited Raju’s strawberry farm. We ate strawberry ice cream which cost RM 6 per cup. I can’t describe how yummy was it taste. If you go to CH, don’t forget to visit Raju’s strawberry farm. And don’t forget to find fried mushroom at the stalls around CH.

We had BBQ on the night and followed by a post mortem session. We discussed many things during the post mortem session. I would like to thank you to Fathee the program director who invited me for the expedition, to all the trekkers, you guys rock!. And i would like to tell my appreciations to Pak Busu who told me about forest matters, about orchid and many more. Thanks to En. Md Noor and his crews. Alhamdulillah, all of us safe until the end of expedition. Trans Titiwangsa was a great experience. We should preserve our forests which are our own precious assets. I hope to join in other future expeditions. Thanks outrecs.
